The loverly Kristine gave me this plant as a housewarming gift this past winter. His name is Zed. I am not sure about the species of plant, but it grows like a weed and is in desperate need of replanting.
Sitting next to Zed is approximately 152 yards of 4.5 wpi yarn. It came home with me as 4 ounces of pencil roving from this year's MDSW.
This was my first time spinning a superwash nylon blend.

Beauteous handspun! I've been hoping to try Fiber Optic.
Could Zed be a spider plant or a dracena?
The yarn is fabulous, and nice to see a serial hobbyist in the Northern Jersey area.
Kelli, your comment on my blog was set to 'no-reply' so I'm answering you here. The presentation case is essentially a pillow case (slip). There are a myriad of tutorials online to make them. The Quilt of Valor site (qov.org) has some instructions too, I believe.
